GIFTED AND TALENTED EDUCATION (GATE)
Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students are performing above grade level and have opportunities to expand their knowledge through enrichment experiences. GATE students extend their literacy skills during RtI by participating in leveled instruction that increases their literacy skills through reading activities that focus on collaboration, literacy analysis, and research. Classroom levels may be compacted or extended based on GATE students' knowledge and interests. District-wide GATE classes are offered after school in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Woodruff GATE students have the opportunity to participate in an overnight fieldtrip on marine biology at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
